AnkhMUSH

| +finger | directory | ooc | +view | +where |

+finger

Syntax: +finger [playername]

The +finger command will show you some useful information about the player being +fingered, such as their gender, position in the world, location in the world, and character background.

You can customize what people see when they +finger you by doing several things:

@sex me=<your gender> @alias me=<a short nickname or alias> &title me=<your title or occupation> &email me=<your email address> &www me=<your homepage URL> &bg me=<some information about you or your character>

Default messages will appear if these are not set.

directory

Syntax: dir [object, person, character]

dir [name] returns a short explanation of who a character is, and what their relationship is to other characters. The directory may be slightly out-of-date (as of 6/25/02), because it refers to the players and characters on OGR. If you see a problem in any entry, or you want to add one (or twenty), please email Quiara at lwaters1@ithaca.edu.

dirlist [letter] returns a list of all entries in the directory that begin with that letter. dirlist by itself returns a list of all entries. As of this writing, there are over 200.

ooc

Syntax: ooc (or) +ooc

Typing either of these commands will transport you to the Out-of-Character Lounge, a room where players can relax and talk outside of roleplay.

If you want to say something out of character during a roleplay scene, use your asterisk. We're low-tech here. ;)

+view

Syntax: +view, +view [thing]

The +view command provides a way to add detail to a room without spamming everyone's screen with a three-page description. In any room, you can type "+view" to see if the builder of the room has added such details, in which case you will see something like this:

Details of this location: Lamp Curtain Picture

And then you can type "+view picture" to see:

A beautiful oil painting of a woman in a blue dress.

To add details to a room you are building, you can set the descriptions in separate attributes on the room. For example:

&view_carpet here=The carpet is pink and very soft.

Then, when someone in your room types "+view", they will see something like:

Details of this location: Carpet

You can add as many details to a room as you like.

+where

Syntax: +where

+where returns a list of all connected players, how long they have been idle, and where they are on the MUSH. If you don't want people to know where you are, you can type: @set me=unfindable
